My favorite active reading strategy is to read out loud By reading out loud it helps me understand what I’m reading better, and not rush through what I’m reading. While reading in my head sometimes I go too fast and skip over things. But when reading out loud I pace myself and go at a slow constant pace, that allows me to retain information easier. I plan to use this outside of English class, and continue to read out loud when I have the opportunity in other classes, and when faced with a difficult thing to read. Or even on my own time while reading for enjoyment.
My favorite writing strategy is to read up more on a topic before writing about it. By doing that I get more ideas on what to write, and It can even open my mind to different ideas that people have. After researching a topic more its alot easier for me to just start writing because I have more information about what I’m writing about. I think it’s very important to do outside research while writing about something. It can make your paper more full, and less bland. But it’s also important to use reliable sources while doing research. I plan to use this outside of English class and keep researching on topics that I’m going to be writing about, so I’m overall more knowledgable about the topic.
